Exactly what we had hoped for...

Pete and Jim took a private tour from Merida to see Uxmal and the surrounding area. Here is what they had to say...

Hi Mr. Lawson:

We made it back to Wisconsin! We drove home in a snowstorm from Milwaukee and said to ourselves, “We are really going to miss the Yucatan!”.

Thank you so much for being our guide on the Puuc Route and choosing so many wonderful things to see along the way. The tour was exactly what we had hoped for…a little glimpse into the culture and people of the Yucatan, a little history and a LOT of fun! Your knowledge of and sensitivity to the people, culture and environment of the Yucatan clearly was the highlight of our trip.

Jim keeps telling friends and family about swimming in the cenotes and I tell them about the monkeys at the cacao farm and feeding the iguanas those fragrant yellow blossoms at the Uxmal ruins. We also stopped by and tried your wife’s cookies and carrot cake too! It was so very nice to meet you…if you’re ever in Green Bay, we’ll take you on an Original Green Bay Excursion! Deep-fried cheese curds, a tour of the Packer Hall of Fame and a swing up to Door County for a swim at Cave Point!

Take care and thanks again!

Pete & Jim

Angel made sure we were safe!

Bridget came to Progreso on the cruiseship and with 19 (yes, nineteen) of her friends, had us take them all out in two vans to see the sights around Uxmal Here is what they had to say:

Just wanted to say thank you to everyone who had a part in making sure our excursion was awesome.

Angel and the drivers were amazing. They made sure we were aware of what was happening step by step. They were very professional, courteous, knowledgeable, and caring. We never crossed the street without Angel making sure we were safe.

Most of all, they were with us the entire time. Our entire family enjoyed the excursion and we all learned so much.

Eddie was perfect

Jeff and his wife, after an excursion out of Progreso, had this to say:

We had an awesome adventure! The driving time was a little more than I wanted but for what we were able to do, it worked out fine. Ruins, cenote and Progreso food and shopping; a good combination.

Our driver Jose and also the guide (a.k.a. Eduardo “Eddie” Cantu) were great. Both gentlemen went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable. They made sure we had plenty to drink and even stopped on a couple of occasions to pick up snacks with a local flair.

With his knowledge of the Mayan culture, Eddie was perfect for this excursion. He was very informative at Uxmal. We felt like we were on a college field trip with the information we received. Everything about the who, what and why’s of the ruins kept us wanting to experience more. He was very pleasant to speak to and cordial with everyone we came into contact with. Thank you for putting us with such a great pair of guys.

In a nutshell, good time, good memories, no complaints. We will definitely recommend your excursions to anyone we hear talking about travelling to the Yucatan and hope to have an opportunity to hop around the peninsula with you again.

Thanks again! Happy trails!

The best guide we have ever had...

Dan came in on Carnival to Progreso and chose our little company to help him see the sites and sights on a private tour. Here's what he had to say about his day:

I wanted to let you know that we had a great time, our guide Gener Vallejos was the best guide we have ever had, he went out of his way to show us and explain the ruins, the area and everyday life in that area. He took us by the village he grew up in, showed us his parents Tortilleria which was great! After the seeing all the sites we just never had a chance to grab anything to eat, his Mom made us food which he picked up on the way back to the ship. Words just can’t tell you how much we loved our time in Progresso and the great job Gener provided for us.

Tour was AMAZING!

Octavia and her group, from the Carnival cruise-ship, opted for a private excursion to Uxmal and from her comments, I think she liked it. You be the judge.

Just wanted to give you a heads-up that our tour was absolutely AMAZING!!! Angel was great! Very informative, accommodating, and funny! José was joy as well :)... Thanks so much for making this experience a memorable one. We had a family group (parents-pushin’ 50 & children- early 20’s) and somehow we ALL managed to have a blast! I will recommend your company, without a doubt. Best wishes with your future endeavors & please give Angel & Jose our warmest regards! :)

David was an excellent guide!

Kristen and her "boat people" from the Carnival ship in Progreso recently visited Uxmal and stopped at the Hacienda Ochil for a bite of real Yucatecan food. Here's what Kristen had to say.

Meeting Gonzalo and David in Progreso

Meeting Gonzalo and David in Progreso

Yes we all had a wonderful time. David was an excellent guide and we had a lot of fun. The best and biggest surprise were the cold peppermint towels after our stops! It was just so perfect and welcome.

I will of course endorse you and should we ever return we will call again.

Thank you.
